This olive oil granola is a delicious granola recipe made with healthy ingredients like oats, almonds, chia seeds, olive oil, and maple syrup. It is naturally gluten-free and dairy-free.
Whenever I am in the mood for granola, I make this recipe. Not only is it delicious, and addicting, but it is much healthier than store bought granola. It is lightly sweetened with maple syrup and it is filled with nutritious ingredients like chia seeds and olive oil. ( It doesn’t taste like olive oil, just FYI).

Recipe ingredients
- Rolled oats– make sure your rolled oats are certified gluten-free if you want to avoid cross contamination.
- Almond flour– I like to use blanched almond flour because it is more refined in texture.
- Chia seeds– this add Omega 3s and crunch to the granola.
- Sliced Almonds– these also add a nice crispy crunch.
- Cinnamon and nutmeg– these spices add a lovely flavor to the granola.
- Olive oil– use any mild flavored olive oil in this recipe.
- Maple syrup– this naturally sweetens the granola.
- Vanilla– you can use vanilla both with or without alcohol in it.
- Dried Cranberries– make sure to use fresh dried cranberries so they aren’t so hard.

Additions/ Substitutions
- Instead of maple syrup, you can use honey.
- Instead of dried cranberries, you can use raisins.
- You can add other spices that you like, such as cloves, or all spice.
Step by step instructions
Step 1: Add the rolled oats, almond flour, chia seeds, sliced almonds, cinnamon, nutmeg, and sea salt to a bowl.
Step 2: Mix the ingredients together.
Step 3: Mix the olive oil, maple syrup and vanilla together in a bowl.
Step 4: Pour the olive oil mixture into the bowl of dry ingredients and mix until everything in the bowl is wet.
Step 5: Put the granola onto a pan and evenly spread it out.
Step 6: Bake for 25 minutes, then add the dried cranberries and mix.
Step 7: Bake for 8-10 more minutes, until golden.
Expert tips
- Don’t add the dried cranberries to the granola at the beginning, if it bakes too long the cranberries will harden.
- Once the granola is removed from the oven, let it cool. It hardens as it cools.
- How to store: Pour the almond granola into a Tupperware and keep on your counter for 6-7 days.
- How to eat: Eat plain, in your yogurt, on top of cakes, or on top of ice-cream.

No! This recipe does not. I like granola that is crunchy but doesn’t have large clusters.
Yes! Most store bought granola has processed sugars, high fructose corn syrup, preservatives and other unhealthy ingredients. Homemade granola has a handful of ingredients and no random chemicals and sugars.
You can add flax seeds, hemp hearts, and shredded coconut.
No! It does not. It just tastes like granola. 🙂

Olive Oil Granola with Almonds and Chia Seeds
Ingredients
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1/4 cup almond flour
- 1/4 cup chia seeds
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/3 cup maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup dried cranberries
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Cover a large cookie sheet in aluminum foil.
- In a large bowl, mix the rolled oats, almond flour, chia seeds, sliced almonds, cinnamon, nutmeg, and sea salt together.
- In a medium bowl, mix the olive oil, maple syrup, and vanilla together.
- Pour the liquid mixture into the dry mixture and mix until all of the dry ingredients are wet.
- Pour the mixture onto a cookie sheet, and make sure it is evenly distributed.
- Bake for 25 minutes, then mix the granola with a spatula. Add the dried cranberries and mix them into the granola. Bake for another 10 minutes. (Keep an eye on your granola, once it becomes golden brown, it is ready.
- Let cool.
