Recipe ingredients

  • Ground turkey– make sure to use regular fat turkey and not low fat. The meatloaf is more moist when regular ground turkey is used.
  • Almond flour– blanched almond flour works well because it is refined in texture.
  • Hot sauce– I highly recommend using Frank’s Redhot as your hot sauce because it made out of all natural ingredients, and is delicious!
  • Garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder– these spices season the meat while it cooks.
  • Eggs– these bind the meatloaf together.
  • Strained tomatoes– any simple tomato sauce will also work here.

See recipe card below for a full list of ingredients and measurements.

Additions/ Substitutions

  • Instead of ground turkey, you can use ground chicken.
  • Instead of almond flour, you can use oats. This recipe won’t be Paleo or Whole30 if you use oats.

  1. I absolutely LOVED this.  My problem was my meatloaf completely crumbled when I tried cutting it.  It was still delicious, but we had to eat it with spoons.  Any suggestions?5 stars

    1. What percent ground turkey did you use? I find that if it dries out it does get crumbly. I usually use regular ground turkey and then after it cooks, I like to let it sit for 10 minutes to let the juices reabsorb back into the meatloaf. I hope that helps!!!

  2. You had me at buffalo. I love everything buffalo but wings!lol I love the idea of a healthy version of meatloaf, because no one will eat the traditional kind at home.

  3. Love this recipe. I’ve pinned it for later. I haven’t tried the almond flour, but am excited to. Plus, I love your choice of hot sauce 😉

    1. Almond flour really works well in place of bread crumbs. 🙂 Let me know if you try it!

  4. Ohhh..this looks good! My husband and I would eat this like crazy. Our kids on the other hand, would not because of the spice. I make a meatloaf that they LOVE, buuuutttt, it’s far from healthy. I figure at least they are getting protein in them!

    1. Thank you! 🙂 Yes spices are always tough with kiddos… got to do what you got to do!
