I love making fresh juice at home with my juicer. It is such a great way to get energy and vitamins. This Strawberry, Beet and Carrot Juice, this Grape Citrus Fennel Juice, and this healthy lemonade are my favorites.

I love how this lemonade is sweet yet tart, full of antioxidants, and really does taste like lemonade! Except that it is green thanks to the kale and cucumber juices.

What makes this recipe great

  • It is a healthier version of lemonade.
  • It’s sweetened by apples and it is tart and lemony thanks to the lemons.
  • Kale is filled with antioxidants. It also is a great source of vitamin K, A, D, C and manganese.
  • Cucumbers may be low in calories but they are a good source of Vitamin K and C, along with  magnesium, potassium and manganese.
  • Lemons are high in vitamin C and antioxidants and help boost your immune system.

Recipe ingredients

Ingredients needed to juice green lemonade.
  • kale– you’ll use a bunch of kale here. Kale is often sold in a “bunch”.
  • apple– you can use your favorite type of apple.
  • cucumber– I like using english cucumbers but feel free to use another type.
  • lemon– most of the peel will be taken off but if you want more of a tart lemon taste, then leave more peel on your lemon.

See recipe card below for a full list of ingredients and measurements.

How to make it

Green lemonade in a juicer.
  • Cut your apples and cucumber so that they fit into your juicer.
  • Fold the kale into smaller pieces to make juicing easier.
  • Remove some of the lemon peel. If you like tart, then keep more on. If you do not, then remove more peel.
  • Then put all of the ingredients into a juicer! This Waring Pro Juice Extractor has been great for me. I have used it for years and years and love how I can put all the pieces into my dishwasher.
