I had far too many sweets over the weekend and my body isn’t too happy with me. So, it is detox time! Juicing is my favorite way to get back on track and to detox of body of bad habits. You can’t beat the nutrients, uplifting feeling, and motivation to be healthy that comes along with a fresh juice. Especially this Refreshing Tomato Carrot Juice. I love it!
Refreshing Tomato Carrot Juice is one of my absolute favorite juices. It is made of carrots, grapefruit, oranges, and tomatoes and if you couldn’t tell by the name, it is so refreshing!
If you have read some of my other juice posts, you’ll know that I have five all time favorite juice recipes and that I was inspired by The Juiceman’s Power of Juicing.
I have juiced for many years and after much experimentation, I pretty much have my regular juices picked out and stick to those.
If I have any extra veggies or fruit lying around, I’ll add these to these recipes to change it up.
Tomatoes may seem like a strange addition to juice, but don’t be afraid of it. It will not turn your drink into something that tastes like canned tomato sauce. I promise! haha
Adding tomatoes adds a light warmth to the juice, which instantly makes the juice more… refreshing. I just can’t think of a better word for it!
Plus the grapefruit and orange juices really even out the flavoring here.
The carrots add the perfect hint of sweetness too.
This juice actually started a “what is refreshing?” debate between my boyfriend and I. He thinks that lemonade would be the most refreshing beverage on a hot day.
While I think that cucumber and/or tomato juice is even more refreshing than that.
I often make this juice without the tomatoes, and it tastes much sweeter this way.
But when I’m thirsty and in need of some nutrients, I don’t always want something sweet. Especially when I had too many sweets over the past weekend!
Now I don’t know if this normal….or my body is telling me something…but I drank this in about 30 seconds. Actually more like 15 seconds. And I loved every second of it… 🙂
- 6 medium carrots
- 2 tomatoes
- 1-2 oranges (it tastes great with 1 or 2)
- 1 grapefruit
Peel the oranges and grapefruit and section them to be able to fit into a juicer. ( I use a Warring Pro and love it).
Wash and dry the carrots and tomatoes.
Juice all of the fruits and vegetables.
Mix the juice with a spoon before pouring.
Makes 30 ounces of juice.
